The Reds are the big favourites to lift the trophy but Chelsea are determined to spoil the party.

Their manager Frank Lampard said: “It’s a cup that the club desperately wants to win. I’ve never won it, a lot of players in there have never won it, so we have to give it everything.”

What time is kick-off tonight?

The 2019 Super Cup will be held on Wednesday, August 14. Kick-off is at 8pm UK time.

What is the team news?

Liverpool will be without their number one goalkeeper Alisson after he picked up a calf injury in their win over Norwich on Friday night.

Newly-signed back-up goalkeeper Adrian is set to make his first start, while Andy Lonergan, another recently acquired goalkeeper, has also been included in the 23-man squad.

Dejan Lovren is conspicuous by his absence as talk of a move to Roma rumbles on and Nathaniel Clyne is also a long-term injury absentee for the Reds.

For Chelsea, N’Golo Kante could feature as he continues his recovery from injury. The Blues should also have Antonio Rudiger and Willian back but Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi are both out with Achilles injuries.
