When Brendan Rodgers took charge of Leicester City in March, it’s fair to say the Foxes were at a low point.

After enduring a period of dour football and fan unrest under Claude Puel, the hierarchy at the King Power Stadium decided a change at the top was required.

The 2018/19 season proved to be traumatic and challenging and equal measure, with the tragic loss of Chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha in a helicopter crash casting a dark shadow over the East  Midlands.

But since the appointment of Rodgers from Celtic, the outlook is undoubtedly more positive.

Since the Northern Irishman’s first match in charge on 3 March, Leicester City have earned 25 points. Only Liverpool and Manchester City have secured more in that time, with 40 and 37 respectively.

However, this prestigious record could well be under threat considering how tough Leicester’s next run of games is.

The Foxes went into the international break sitting in third place in the Premier League table after picking up eight points from their first four games.

City’s first game back after the international break is a date with potential top six rivals Manchester United, before home fixtures with Tottenham and Newcastle, and a trip to Liverpool.

The trip to Old Trafford presents Rodgers with an opportunity to get one over former pupil Harry Maguire, who left to join the Red Devils in a world-record £80million deal this summer.
