Derby’s winless run now stretches to six games after they could only muster a 1-1 draw with Cardiff on Friday night.
The hosts took the lead inside six minutes through Scott Malone, taking the Rams four attempts in total to finally stick the ball beyond Alex Smithies.
Replays later showed the goal should have been disallowed, as Waghorn handled the ball in the build-up to the goal
The visitors responded strongly and soon levelled. Robert Glatzel went to receive the ball inside the area, but Richard Keogh hauled him to the deck with the referee pointing to the spot.
Glatzel stepped up to take the penalty and thumped the ball past Kelle Roos for his first goal for the Bluebirds and earn the visitors a point.
