Unai Emery has left Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Mesut Ozil at home for Arsenal’s trip to Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday evening.
Both players came under fire for their performances in the Gunners 2-2 draw with Watford on Sunday.
Sokratis was heavily criticised after sloppily giving the ball away for the Hornets’ first goal.
And the north London club confirmed the travelling squad for the Europa League tie did not feature either man.
Rob Holding, who has not made an appearance so far this campaign, makes the trip to Germany as he returns from a serious knee injury.

Moreover, youngsters Joe Willock, Bukayo Saka, Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith-Rowe all feature in Emery’s 19-man squad.
Smith-Rowe certainly made his mark in last season’s competition, scoring twice in the group stage before he was sent on loan at RB Leipzig.
Arsenal take on Eintracht Frankfurt at 5.55pm UK time, with Group F rivals Standard Liege and Vitoria facing off in Belgium the same night.
