Aubameyang’s strikes were pivotal to Arsenal remaining unbeaten throughout September, netting both of his side’s goals in a 2-2 draw at Watford, and equalisers against Tottenham and Manchester United respectively.

The former Borussia Dortmund striker also scored a late free-kick at the Emirates to earn the north London side a 3-2 win over newly-promoted Aston Villa.

It is the second time the Gunners man has won the award, who topped an eight-man shortlist which included Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Tottenham’s Heung-Min Son.

Teemu Pukki was August’s winner after a dream start to his Premier League career, scoring five goals and claiming one assist in four matches for Norwich.

Aubameyang will be looking to add to his tally of eight goals so far this season, when in-form Arsenal travel to Sheffield on October 21 following the completion of the international break.
